Sports/Activities

Sports Fields/Courts

Whether you’re joining a league, organizing a pick-up game, or just getting outside, City Park is one of Denver’s favorite places to play. Open fields are perfect for soccer, softball, frisbee, flag football, and group workouts, while handball, and tennis courts keep the action going year-round.

With beautiful scenery, plenty of space to move, and room for every skill level, City Park makes it easy to get in the game and enjoy the outdoors.

Boat, Float, and Bike Rentals

Explore City Park from the water or on two wheels!

Rent a pedal boat, kayak, or paddleboard on Ferril Lake for a fun new perspective of the park. Prefer to stay on land? Hop on a bike and cruise scenic paths, lakes, and wide-open green spaces. Bike-share stations near Ferril Lake and the Denver Museum of Nature & Science make getting around easy.

Find rental information and plan your adventure through the Denver Parks & Recreation’s  Adventure Hub.

Walking/Running

City Park offers excellent opportunities for walking and running, with wide paths circling lakes, open lawns, and scenic views of downtown Denver and the Rocky Mountains. A highlight is the Mile High Loop, a marked 3.1 mile track popular with runners, walkers, and fitness groups looking for a consistent, easy-to-follow route through the park.

Golf

Denver City Park Golf Course is an 18-hole public course offering panoramic views of downtown Denver and the Rocky Mountains. Redesigned in 2020, it features rolling fairways, modern practice facilities, and a clubhouse, making it one of the city’s premier municipal golf experiences.
