Construction Updates on City Park’s New Nature Play Project

Construction staging for the 4-acre, $7.9 million nature play and waterway project in City Park is underway!

Located just outside the southwest corner of the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, the project will:

  • restore a historic water way,
  • introduce native plantings,
  • feature animal sculptures to play on (including a 20-foot-tall Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep),
  • include other climbing features, swings, slides, etc.

Project completion is expected in late 2024.  For more information on the project click here

What’s happening now?

Fencing has started to be installed and trailers/equipment have begun arriving to get the site set up for construction. This preparation stage will likely take over a month.

In March, we will start to see banners installed along the fencing, with more project information and directions for alternative pedestrian pathways.
